Why some doctors use the techniques in two steps for hypospadias repair?

I usually try to do everything in one stage. Sometimes, in proximal forms, it is impossible due to lack of available skin. In this case, i do the majority in first stage, and leave the small opening for later closure. Second surgery is a 30-minute-procedure.
